Privacy

Short version: we store as little as we can get away with, we do not sell or share it, and you can have it deleted by asking.

What is stored, why, and for how long

A source tag (for example src=yt_lab)Which link brought you here, so we can tell which one worked. It says nothing about you. Kept 13 months, then deleted.
A visit tokenA short code worked out from your rough network address and browser, salted and re-made every day, so two clicks in one day are not counted as two people. It cannot be turned back into your address, it is not a cookie, nothing is stored on your device, and it does not follow you to any other site or to tomorrow. Kept 13 months.
A browser fingerprint and the referring website nameA short code worked out from the browser description your browser sends, and the host name of the site you came from, never the full address of either. The browser description itself is not kept, and no part of your IP address is kept at all. Used to separate people from automated traffic. Kept 13 months.
A purchase recordThe Stripe checkout id, the amount, the date and the email you paid with, held by Stripe, so we can re-issue your download and so the books are correct. Kept as long as tax law requires, which in Cyprus is six years.

What is not stored

No cookies, no local storage, no advertising identifier, no part of your IP address, no browser description in readable form, no full referrer URL, no card details, and no email address unless you buy something, because these pages do not ask for one.

Who else sees it

Stripe processes the payment and holds the payment record, as the payment processor must. If you follow an affiliate link, the merchant on the other side sees the visit as their own, under their privacy policy. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.

Asking for deletion, or a copy

Write to [email protected] from the address concerned and say what you want: a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We will do it within 30 days and tell you when it is done. The one thing we may have to keep is the purchase record, because tax law requires it, and we will say so if that applies to you. You can also complain to the Cyprus data protection authority.
